| By Claire O'Connor and James West Midasletter.com Monday, April 26th, 2010 Mineral Hill Industries Ltd. (TSX-V: MHI) is a Canadian-based mineral exploration and development company with their finger on the green technology pulse. They are exploring for lithium and rare earth metals to meet the growing demands for use in cell phones, laptops, electric cars and alloys in general whilst mitigating exposure to adverse market conditions by retaining interest in multiple mineral resource projects. The company has conducted an NI: 43-101 Technical Report on its three 100% owned hard rock lithium properties in Quebec (which is available on www.sedar.com), they've just closed the contract on a brine lithium property in Nevada and have spent the last 4 years exploring their 100% owned gold property in BC. Now, Mineral Hill is ready to focus on developing its impressive assemblage to the utmost of their significant ability. Speaking with Mineral Hill's CEO Dieter Peter, President John Punzo and Exploration Committee member Dr. Stewart Jackson it's evident that the relatively recent switch of company focus from gold to lithium has inspired a tangible buzz of excited anticipation. "Initially Mineral Hill was involved mainly in gold exploration" Peter explains, "We still kept our gold exploration properties, we own them 100%, but we wanted to concentrate on both gold and lithium. Primarily, this year, on lithium exploration. We'll still complete the 43-101 on our gold property this year, but the main exploration funds we are going to raise, and have raised, are going towards the exploration of lithium."Why Lithium? The decision to allot exploration priority to lithium was indubitably inspired by growing demand for the metal. World wide demand for lithium is reported to be on the rise. One of the main factors influencing this upswing is environmental pressure for, and public interest in, "greener" transportation and portable energy supply with larger capacity. Increased use of lithium-ion batteries are a major component to achieve this ideal, especially for powering cars. Proof of these green developments in the motor industry are evident in BMW's plans to launch its remodeled lithium-ion battery powered 750i luxury sedan to the Japanese in 2010, in Toyota's plans to launch plug-in hybrid Priuses with lithum-ion batteries in 2010, and in Mercedes-Benz' plans to launch its S400 Blue Hybrid with Li-ion battery in 2011. The world is changing its traditionally intransigent views on fuel and Mineral Hill, for one, is changing with it. The Lay of the Land In Quebec With these world altering developments in mind, Mineral Hill acquired their three hard rock lithium properties in Quebec last year; Chubb, International and Athona. Together, the three properties consist of 61 mineral claims covering 2333.45 hectares, and all properties are between 11 and 19km away from the rapidly progressing Canada Lithium Corp who, in a press release issued in March, reported 31.6 million tonnes of measured/indicated mineral resources and 38.9 million tonnes of additional inferred mineral resources. Dr. Jackson provides further insight into the geological potential of the area. "We're exploring in the region that contains the largest former producer of lithium, Quebec Lithium. This property was in production under Quebec Lithium a number of years ago. I looked at it in the early 60's when it was in production. It subsequently went dormant, and a Northern Quebec group has now acquired it (Canada Lithium), and they're aggressively leading it forward, so our projects in Northern Quebec are in the vicinity of a very prominent hard rock producer of lithium."The Quebec Properties The 3 Quebec properties have already undergone an NI: 43-101 Technical Report, the results of which pleased the company greatly. President John Punzo elaborates. "The key point to draw from the existing 43-101 is that it shows favourable potential for a commercially viable lithium deposit, with historical grades averaging well over 1% Lithium Oxide. This encourages us to move forward with the project and continue the next part of our plan which is to act on the recommendation of the geologist by doing a 24 hole drill program to prove historical grades and expand the zone of mineralization, and eventually develop a resource."The Chubb Property is located approximately 2km due south of Baillargé Lake, approx. 32 km North from the town of Val d'Or and 6.5 km South of the village of La Corne. The Chubb property consists of 20 mineral claims (polygons) for a total area of 812 hectares. The most recent historical work, conducted by Abitibi Lithium Corp, consisted of 4 diamond drill holes with best intersections of 1.68% lithium at 3.72 meters and 1.25% at 2.38 meters. Mineral Hill plan to conduct a 1200m drill program on Chubb to verify positive lithium surface assays are projected at depth and to identify the shape and the extent of the spodumene bearing dyke. The company also intends to conduct further surface sampling and mapping to identify additional targets. The International Property is located in the Figuery Township near the Harricana River and consists of two main lithium showings; The Bouvier and The International. Past drilling conducted on Bouvier in 1954 included 11 shallow holes that revealed a spodumenebearing pegmatite dyke extending for 200m in strike, and 5m to 15m in width. Eleven diamond drill holes were sunk in the early 1950's by the Lithium Corporation of America. One bulk sample yielded 1.39% lithium and helped evaluate a possible tonnage of 907,000 tonnes. On The International, International Lithium drilled 85 holes in 1954 and 1955, principally along the favorable monzogranite contact which lead to the discovery of numerous spodumene-bearing granitic pegmatite dykes with some intersections reaching 6 meters. A tonnage estimate produced a 135,000 tonne sub-horizontal zone, 4 meters thick and grading 0.95% lithium (Sharpe, 1961). Mineral Hill intend to conduct a drill program on the property to confirm and expand results from 13 historic drill holes and test 2 new targets identified through IP survey with an additional 11 drill holes. The Athona Property is located in the Landrienne Township and contains molybdenite mineralization with intrusions of albitite dykes. Mineral Hill has established a new grid in the Northeastern corner of the property. A ground based magnetic survey conducted along the grid lines revealed 2 distinct magnetic domains which define a geological contact between a granitic intrusion and volcanic assemblages of the Landrienne Foundation. Mineral Hill intend to conduct further mapping and an IP survey on the Southern region of the prospect to identify lithium mineralized pegmatites for follow up drilling. Dr. Jackson summarizes exactly what's happening with the Quebec properties. "The work to date has confirmed the earlier results. The program going forward is to develop a resource based on the earlier results. So we've done one step, we're planning the next step. Likewise on the lithium property in Nevada. We're going to go out very, very soon and confirm the assays that the seller has represented. The next step will be to complete a 43-101, and based on the results of that, anticipate a program to develop a resource, or to confirm a resource with drilling."The RR Li Property, Nevada The property in Nevada is of course the RR Brine Lithium Property that Mineral Hill has just closed the contract on. Located on the Northwest side of the Railroad Valley playa in the Northeast of Nye County in Central Nevada, this property is also situated on established, promising terrain. "I think we need to acknowledge the fact that there is a lithium producer in Nevada on similar terrain to ours, who's been producing for a number of years... We're not exploring the moon here, we're in the right terrain, its established terrain." Dr. Jackson confirms. The Praxis Goldfields Project, BC Likewise, The Praxis Goldfields Project in BC is also located in a very prolific mineral belt, the same highly prospective geological belt as Barrick Gold's Eskay Creek Mine, with a number of very aggressive exploration programs in the vicinity. The property boasts 35 mineral claims covering 12,475 hectares and to date, continuous exploration on the property has revealed a bimodal middle Jurassic volcanic succession (Salmon Creek formation) synchronous with mineralization at Eskay Creek, syn-volcanic faulting controlling facies distribution and shallow marine volcanic arc setting. Despite concentrating primarily on their lithium projects, Mineral Hill nonetheless is eager to conduct an NI: 43-101 report on Praxis at some point this year. "On Praxis the 43-101 will be done and during that we will perhaps confirm some of the earlier results while getting the materials to do the 43-101. Then the 43-101 will recommend a program to be conducted, to ultimately develop a resource on Praxis." Dr. Jackson confirms.Mineral Hill has accumulated a diversified portfolio of quality lithium and precious metal properties and right now, hopes to build shareholder value through the development of those projects. With lithium demand and prices literally soaring in recent years, it's no surprise that Mineral Hill regard themselves as undervalued. "If you look at the lithium companies that are out there today, and if you compare us and what we have, we're tremendously undervalued." Punzo comments, "The key factors for creating a successful mineral exploration company are A) Do you have quality projects focused in the right commodity? We believe we have that, and B) Do we have the personnel, management and directors that can steer this company to success? I think the answer in our case, is yes."
